9. Neutrogena Eye Firming Cream made with vitamin A and B5 for helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles, and under-eye puffiness. Amazon Promising review: “I am a man who is concerned about wrinkles. I tried a lot of different products because I have acne-prone skin. This product stays where it is supposed to under your eyes and over your crow’s feet. I have noticed that when you put other under-eye creams on they end up all over your face because of how oily they are. This lotion is awesome. You put it on after you turn off the shower while you are still dripping wet, then you gently towel dry. I have very dry and sensitive skin and this worked better than any lotion I have ever used. My favorite part is that it is so quick to apply and it doesn’t leave your skin anything but soft. 18. L’Oréal Paris Hydra Energetic Cleanser with Charcoal for fighting problems with excess oil, dullness, impurities, and clogged pores. I have always heard good things from women, so I thought I would give it a try. I am very impressed and I love this wash. It definitely has a ‘man’ scent and leaves your face feeling very clean. It does not over clean to have your skin feeling dry and it takes the shine away. Besides liking how the product works, I love that a little goes a long ways. A tiny amount does an awesome job.” — FEFORD427

My Morning + Night Skincare Routine
Jessica My Morning + Night Skincare Routine
Happy Sunday everybody. I’m pretty pumped to share this LONG OVERDUE skincare routine post with you. I’ve been getting a lot of messages remarking on how good my skin looks and asking what I’m doing (even a few asking if I’ve done fillers, I’ll take that as a compliment!). The answer is no, I haven’t, but I did get really serious about my skincare routine and invested in some treatments that have 100% drastically improved my skin. You may look at the below and think, this girl is cray, this is way too many steps. Honestly, when I’m doing it, it doesn’t feel that way, and in a weird way, my skincare routine is almost a form of meditation for me (just ask my friends, I’ve been this way since high school). Of course my routine changes with the seasons, so this is what’s working for me right now. I realized I’ve never done a post on masks, which feels crazy because I do them ALL THE TIME, and have so many I love, so I’m thinking I’ll do that soon. If you have any other skincare questions or posts you’d like me to do, let me know, I LOVE talking about this stuff. Skincare Step-by-Step Morning Cleanse with Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser or Farmaesthetics Herbal Cleanser *If my skin is feeling dry I’ll skip this step or just do a splash of cold water Tone with Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner Apply a few drops of SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic **This is expensive but has been an absolute game changer for my skin (it also has over 100s of 5 star reviews). I haven’t had any breakouts since I started using this. Then apply a few drops of SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier (I apply anything with a dropper directly to my skin, not into my hands first, so no product is wasted). A few dabs of First Aid Beauty Eye Gel and if I have time I’ll use my jade roller especially around my eyes to de-puff. I’ve tried a lot of face oils and Indie Lee’s Squalane Oil is my favorite. I only need 2-3 drops and it’s super lightweight and moisturizing. I started using this SPF 30 moisturizer recently but loving it so far. It has incredible anti-aging ingredients like evening primrose oil and hemp seed oil. It’s also very lightweight on the skin. Finish with a spritz of Farmaesthetics cool aloe mist. Night If I’m wearing make-up I’ll use this True Botanicals Pre-Cleanse Oil first, then wash with one of my cleansers. Treatment: I alternate between SkinCeuticals Retinol , First Aid Beauty AHA Resurfacing Liquid , and Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 1970. Using an acid every night has drastically improved my skin. If I’m feeling a breakout coming on or if I have one I use Caudalie VinoPure Serum as a spot treatment. If I’m using retinol I try to let it sit for about 20 minutes before applying face oil. Apply a thin layer of Ursa Major Recovery Cream , a little goes a long way. Tons of anti-aging ingredients and a clean beauty brand (also Vermont based)! Finish with a spritz of Heritage Store Rosewater Tools & Masks
One thing I’ve learned is how to pay attention to what my skin needs. When my skin was at it’s worst, I was in a panic mode of sorts, trying anything and everything to make it better, which only seemed to make it worse. Most weeks I don’t exfoliate more than 1-2 times, particularly now that we’re headed into winter, my skin doesn’t need it as much. Masks My favorite way to exfoliate is to mix Farmaesthetics Rose Perfecting Polish with the Herbal Cleanser so it creates a paste. I’ll rub this gently in circular motions (occasionally I leave it on as a mask for a few minutes) and then rinse. Ren’s Glycol Lactic Radiance Mask is another favorite that exfoliates gently and never makes me break out after using it. It has AHAs which is great for dead cell turnover and collagen production. I also recently started using Tammy Fender’s Epi Peel and it’s so nice for brightening and purifying your skin. If I’m needing hydration I reach for SkinCeuticals b5 mask or First Aid Beauty Bouncy Mask. The Fresh Rose Face Mask is always a favorite too, it smells so nice and it’s so soothing. These are my favorite eye patches to instantly hydrate and lift. Everyone on my holiday list gets these! Tools I’ve always been a bit of a skeptic when it comes to at-home skincare tools but after using the NuFace just once I was really impressed. I was introduced to Microcurrent therapy during a facial this spring and I was blown away by the results. Microcurrent facials are often referred to as the “natural facelift.” The NuFace is an at home device that lets you use microcurrent technology at home. I use it a few times a week and notice an immediate difference in my skin (looking more lifted, firm, tightened pores). If the NuFace isn’t in the budget right now, get yourself a jade roller . It’s not going to give you the same results, but it’s great at de-puffing and just feels really nice on your face morning or night. Treatments
I’ve always been pretty good at getting facials every few months but two new treatments I’ve tried have been game changers. I got my first hydrafacial basically by accident. I booked it thinking it was something else, so was kind of confused throughout the treatment but I was BLOWN AWAY by the results. My skin never felt so clean and hydrated. It’s a pricey treatment at around $175 and it’s not a spa-like treatment the way a regular facial is, but it’s worth every penny in my opinion. I try to do this every two months. Allure breaks it down here if you want more info on what it is. This past spring I decided to get serious about my skincare and go to a medical spa. After struggling with hormonal acne and just noticing more fine lines and general lackluster in my skin I wanted to see what my options were. The esthetician I met with suggested VivaceRF. It’s microneedling with radio frequency so there is no down time (traditional microneedling can be up to a week). What does it do? It alleviates fine lines and wrinkles, minimizes pores, improves skin tone and texture, and stimulates collagen production. It’s typically done in a series of three treatments, each spread out over 4-6 weeks. I was told I would start to see results before the third treatment (right about now) and sure enough I’ve noticed a drastic improvement. It was expensive (around $775/treatment) and I was really nervous spending that amount of money but it has been worth every penny. My skin has honestly never looked better. Just do a quick google search “Vivace before and after” and you’ll see why it’s becoming so popular.
Well I wasn’t planning on writing a novel but here we are. I’ve always been pretty focused on taking good care of my skin but over the last year I’ve stepped up my game and it has definitely paid off. Some people like to spend money on handbags or shoes, I spend mine on my skin (I get that trait from my Mom, haha). There was a period in time where I thought I’d never be able to leave the house without wearing makeup again because my skin was such a mess, now, most days I don’t wear any make-up at all. I still get the occasional breakout and I still have forehead wrinkles and crows feet (though they honestly don’t bother me) but overall my skin looks and feels healthy. I was thinking of doing an everyday makeup post soon as I finally found a clean makeup routine I am loving, let me know if you’d want to see that! Happy Sunday, treat yourself to a face mask. xx
How I Cleared My Dark Spots After Years Of Trying
by Onyinye November 17, 2018 No Comments
I’ve talked about skincare a lot on this blog and reviewed beauty products especially Korean skincare products . However, most readers don’t know about my journey to finally getting acne under control and how I cleared my dark spots.
Over the years, I struggled with acne and post-acne hyperpigmentation. Any pimple that appeared on my face left a dark spot that took forever to clear. The worst was the huge hormonal ones that appeared at tough spots monthly.
I tried literally everything I saw for spot removal especially after graduating from secondary school irrespective of the ingredients. Those days, one thought as big girls (fresh secondary graduates) we needed to glow up for University. The pimples didn’t let me be great and I resorted to covering the dark spots with makeup products anytime I was leaving the house.
You know how people are so quick to suggest skincare products despite your skin type. I got a lot of suggestions and some aunties blamed the spots on my use of makeup, forgetting the spots were the reason I started using makeup in the first place.
While waiting for University admission, I started modeling in Lagos, Nigeria where I met a woman that did facials in her house. Her facials helped in keeping fresh pimples away for sometime but the dark spots from previous spots remained.
I gave up on facials after I left Lagos and continued experimenting with products. I was always exfoliating my face with St. Ives apricot scrub which ended up doing nothing to my spots. I still see a lot of positive reviews of St Ives exfoliators so, I was either buying the fake ones then or not following a proper skincare routine for my skin type.
When I traveled abroad for studies, I went makeup-free between my 1st and 2nd year in the university and reintroduced monthly facials. The cosmetologist I was seeing used Dead Sea products, etc and yet no visible change to the dark spots. Few old spots that were lighter faded away but the rest remained.
I was always so conscious of my face and the rest of my body because my fair complexion made the dark spots very obvious. I tried switching my then dove body lotions and creams to pears and other baby lotions just to rule out effects from harsh ingredients. Nothing worked.
I became obsessed with skincare and vowed to find a remedy for my skin. I mean, how hard could it be to find at most 1 product that works?. Plus I’d always wanted to specialize in a part of medicine I enjoyed. My dream of specializing in dermatology was on the line if I couldn’t find a remedy for my own skin.
I began trying out products by continents and countries. Oh yes, I did! I tried different African black soaps (Dudu osun, zee, etc) and they were too drying for my skin. I tried some American products I bought online, tried some Avon and Garnier products (reviewed the exfo brusher ).
Subsequently, I learnt French products were ahead of American products and other European products. I tried a couple of made in France products. Still no change, the tough bastards were still playing on my face.
I was drinking enough water and taking fruits incase you were wondering if I paid attention to my diet. I’ve always hated sugary products since secondary school days and very oily food, so those weren’t part of the issues either. This went on till late 2014. I realized I’ve been going about skincare and everything the wrong way! How I Got Acne Under Control
Being a blogger, I come across different blogs and articles daily. One faithful day, I saw an article about how Korean skincare was about 12 years ahead of skincare innovation globally. I began searching on google for Korean skincare. What’s the worst that can happen that hadn’t already happened to me.
That was how I discovered Korean skincare routines and Asian skincare/beauty generally. My skin has never been the same since then. I finally understood the phrases “you’re what you eat.” and “If it can’t go into your body, it shouldn’t be on your body.”
Honestly, some of the skincare ingredients I discovered were things I had already tried in the past but I was either too impatient to see results or I didn’t prepare my skin for the products to be effective. Eg. Using lemon to fade scars.
If you’ve ever looked at Korean skincare products, you might be turned off by some of their ingredients, donkey bla bla bla, pig collagen, milky piggy bla bla, etc, or words like whitening, acid peeling, etc. Trust me, they are nothing like they sound and they don’t mean the same as those terms in Nigeria and other countries.
Since discovering these skin changing routines and products, I’ve been more confident about specializing in cosmetic dermatology when the time comes than ever! Like, girl! ‘been there, done that! your skin will be safe with me!
First things first. I had to learn the basics of skincare in addition to healthy food and fruits. I also learnt general practices to aid skincare success. I wouldn’t call me an expert yet but I’ve got years of personal experiences that are enough to advise other people so that they don’t waste money and time or worse, damage their skin in their skincare journey.
Forget what we read about drinking lots of water, if that’s the only thing you’re doing, you might probably never see results. You need to modify other parts of your lifestyle before you can see results while using products, like changing pillowcases often, having a night time skincare routine, etc. Finally, Here’s How I Cleared My Dark spots Thanks To Following Korean Skincare Routines.
• Double cleansing : this means cleansing oil impurities with oil based cleansers such as this cleansing oil and water-soluble impurities with water-based cleansers such as this low ph face wash . I double cleanse mostly when I have makeup on but it’s better to always double cleanse.
• Exfoliating : at least 2 times a week. I first started with gritty exfoliators like my favorite sugar mask but now I interchange with clay masks , chemical exfoliators (Aha, BHA ) and exfoliating gloves and cloths.
• Toner : Contrary to what people use the term toning for in Nigeria, toning in skincare is basically returning your skin’s pH to normal or lowering it as the case may be for the other products (actives) in your routine to be effective.
That’s why there are hydrating toners, clarifying toners , etc. I currently alternate between micellar water and beauty water in place of actual toners.
• Serum , Essence and/or Ampoule Application: If you have a particular skin concern to tackle, your best bet is to use one or all of them to tackle it as most of these products are made specifically for individual skin conditions. If you can’t afford to have all, go for one with a wide range of uses. I use a vitamin C face serum . I talked about it and all the benefits of using the right vitamin C serum in this OST vitamin C20 review .
• Moisturizing : Forget what people say about not using anything on their skin because the weather is too hot, they sweat a lot and creams or lotions make them sweat more, etc. If your cream makes you sweat then it isn’t suitable for your skin. Skin getting so oily or sweaty means your body is overcompensating for your skin’s dryness and insufficient moisture. Hence the reason to balance out your skin’s moisture with lotions.
There are variety of moisturizers to choose from.
• Sun care : I can’t overemphasize on the use of spf in skincare. If you’re using products for hyperpigmentation and not using spf up to 40 minutes before going under the sun, you’re harming your skin. Even if you have sensitive skin, there are soothing sun creams to use like this Aloe soothing SPF50 sun cream . Miscellaneous Skincare Products For Acne Control
These products are useful, however, if you’re just starting out, you could use them when you feel like pampering your skin.
• Sheet mask : I use sheet masks occasionally, once or twice in a month or when I remember. If you can afford to, you should use sheet masks weekly. Just like other products, there are different sheet masks with ingredients for different purposes.
Some people don’t see their desired results after using sheet masks so, they just leave it out of their skincare routine and count it as waste of money. This won’t be so if used right.
When used right, sheet masks can do wonders to your skin overnight. Here are 4 ways to get the most out of your sheet masks . Beside the benefits on skin, they’re quite relaxing to use after a long day. Very rejuvenating!
From my experience, you should choose a sheet mask with ingredients that target the particular skin concern you want to take care of. If your skin is dull or you had a stressful week or day and your skin needs some brightening, it would make more sense to use a rice or lemon sheet mask instead of a kiwi sheet mask.
Pimple patch : Acne/Pimple patches come in handy when you have a pimple you need to flatten overnight without pressing out the content with your nails. These patches extract them without any pressure on your skin. I reviewed the cosrx pimple patches on the blog, they’re the ones I use.
Like I mentioned earlier, Koreans make individual products targeting specific skin conditions. Example, brightening, anti aging, acne, blackheads, etc.
Blackhead Nose Patch : this patch is made to extract blackheads from your nose in one swift move. There are bigger liquid products that target blackheads also like the Cosrx BHA blackhead liquid I reviewed. The Best Part Of Acne Control And How I Cleared My Dark Spots
I didn’t have to use only Korean skincare products, just the routines. You actually don’t need only Korean beauty products for Korean skincare routines. I chose to use Korean products almost exclusively because of my experiences over the years with products made in different countries and experimenting without success.
Korean products are so mild that you might actually doubt they’re doing anything to your skin till you compare the state and look of your skin before, during and after using a product. I also love that they use natural products and because they invest a lot in their skincare, they make products that are safe for all skin types.
Above all, they’re patient with their skincare and routines. I order these products straight from Korea and I’ve decided to make it easier for you to get these products in Nigeria through Shop Modavracha .
I saw a 75ml snail cream from a popular Korean brand Mizon that retails between $14 – $20 depending on where you buy from being sold on Konga for 25,000 naira. This was one of the reasons I decided to start my online store for Korean skincare products in Nigeria. Skincare doesn’t have to cost an arm and leg.
For someone who has been using Korean products for more than 3 years almost exclusively now, I know better than to buy certain brands or products for such ridiculous amount in Nigeria when I know their price range even with shipping. Shop Modavracha would sell products at normal retail rates.
If you’re interested in knowing the exact products I’ve used on my skin so far, I’ve documented them under Korean Skincare . I can’t begin to list and explain how to use each of them here or this post would be longer than it is already.
If you already have products that work for you and can be gotten locally, just use the routine mentioned above and your skin would be glowing in no time.
When people see me now and say, you’re looking fresh or your skin looks great. I just smile and think, “if only you know how much money and effort that has gone into this skin and how I cleared my dark spots. I mean I had this drug reaction after clearing my skin but thank God for discovering Korean Skincare products.
If you have suffered like me to achieve good looking skin but yet nothing worked, you’re in luck. This post should definitely teach you a thing or 2 about skincare routines.
This year, I didnt stick to my Korean skincare products exclusively because I decided to try Nigerian organic skincare brands. Plus, housejob took too much of my time so, my skincare routine lacked. There are great products out there but I’m now back to my Korean ways, lol.
Did you struggle with acne and post acne hyper pigmentation? What’s your story?

11 Superb Tips to Make Your Facial Skin Shine
Share on Pinterest
According to studies , not caring about your looks is one sure way to keep yourself from succeeding. Our appearance is important, and facial skin can also say a lot about your condition and health. We can’t measure beauty, but we can make ourselves look well-groomed which will definitely increase our confidence.
Bright Side found 10 tricks especially for women to help your facial skin stay glowing and fresh. 1. Don’t use baby cream. © Grace Marie Ley / facebook © thebest4u.ru / instagram
You’ve probably been advised many times to use baby cream, especially in cold weather. Yes, it makes your skin softer. But only for a short time! This is due to the fact that baby cream contains lanolin that is useful only for children because a baby’s skin cells are quickly renewed and don’t have time to produce natural protection. But this ingredient is harmful to adults. 2. Apply cream on damp skin.
After you wash your face, don’t dry it with a towel. Applying cream to damp skin is the best way to give it a moisture boost and your skin will be able to absorb more nutrition from the cream. 3. Use baking soda as a facial cleanser.
Baking soda is a universal product that you can also use as a daily cleanser or as a face mask. It is a physical exfoliant and removes the top layer of your skin without causing excessive irritation.
Here are a couple of masks that you can make with baking soda:
1. Basic mask with baking soda. To prevent acne and remove dirt and oil take a 1/2 tbsp of baking soda in your hand, add 1 tbsp of warm water, and make a paste. Before applying it on your skin, rinse your face with warm water. Now put the paste on your skin using your fingertips. Leave for 5-10 minutes and wash away. After this procedure, it is recommended to apply some hydrating cream.
2. Honey and baking soda. By using this mask you get the additional effect of the honey that helps to smooth your skin and unclog your pores. You will need 1 tsp of raw honey to mix with 1/2 tsp of baking soda. Wash your face and dry it, then apply the mixture on your facial skin and neck and massage for several minutes. Leave it on for 10 minutes and after that rinse it off with warm water.
Please, be careful with sensitive and irritated skin! It is always better to test a mask first on the skin on your hand. 4. Put your eye cream in the fridge. © ROX Flawless Eyes / facebook
You woke up again with puffy eyes and don’t have any time to prepare and apply cold tea bags or fresh cucumbers because you need to get ready work. Just keep your eye cream in the fridge and make it ice cold. It will help to get rid of the puffiness and give your eyes some nutrition at the same time. 5. Add a teaspoon of grapeseed oil to your toner.
Grapeseed oil acts as an anti-aging serum, helping the skin to regenerate and renew. Grapeseed oil is very gentle, moisturizes the skin layers, and makes the skin color more dewy and smoother. Just add 1 tsp of grapeseed to your toner and clean your face every day with this mixture. It will save you lots of money on buying expensive creams and may even help eliminate your pimple problem. 6. Use plastic wrap to get rid of blackheads.
Use this trick no later than 10 minutes after your shower or after washing your face. Apply a “thicker than usual” layer of face cream on the areas that have the blackheads.
Put a piece of plastic wrap on the area and cover it with foil. After that apply a warm towel. Wait 10 minutes and then take everything off, including the face cream that you can wipe off with a soft napkin. Rub the skin gently and start pressing down with both index fingers wrapped in the napkins.
Now the process of cleaning blackheads from your skin is much faster and much easier.
After the procedure is finished, apply some toner. 7. Wash your face twice a day.
It is a common mistake to only wash our face at night after the day is finished. It’s also important to wash it in the morning, after sleeping, because you can have some dirt from your pillow or your hair on your skin. 8. Use oil instead of highlighter. © Scratched Academy / facebook © max.and.more / instagram
There is no need to use a highlighter all the time to get shiny cheekbones. You can just use your favorite facial oil or serum for this purpose. Using an oil or serum can be more beneficial for your skin, make it more moisturized, and help it look more natural.
After applying your makeup, take the facial oil and put a few drops on your hand. Dab a blending sponge on the oil to pick it up off your hand. Then start tapping the areas with the sponge where you’d normally apply highlighter. Be careful and gentle not to smudge your makeup. 9. Make your own lemongrass toner.
Asian people definitely know a lot about how to look young, and they found out a long time ago that lemongrass has amazing health and beauty benefits. This toner makes the skin smooth and you can also use it if your skin is irritated and has pimples or eczema.
To make the natural toner, boil fresh lemongrass in a cup of water until it reduces in half. Allow it to cool. Then make double strength green tea and mix both liquids in similar proportions. Add 5-6 drops of essential lemongrass oil. 10. Mix crushed aspirin with calamine oil. © shutterstock.com
This is very effective against blemishes and pimples because aspirin reduces inflammation. Take the aspirin pill and crush it, then mix it with a drop of calamine lotion or oil. Apply it on the blemishes and leave it on your face for 15 minutes. After that then gently rinse it off. 11. Here’s a highlighter hack for tired eye skin:
If you work a lot and don’t sleep enough, the skin around your eyes probably looks puffy and dry. To get rid of this problem fast you can use a mixture of a drop of highlighter, liquid concealer, and hydrating eye cream together.
Tap the area around your eyes with this mixture and it will give the illusion of de-puffed skin. But be careful with the amount of highlighter you use!

What Supermodels Do Every Morning
Home / Beauty Insider , Features , Treatments , Trending / What Supermodels Do Every Morning November 16, 2018 by Lisa Williams
You could not be more wrong if you thought supermodels are having it easy cruising through life with their looks. Under the high-pressure environment of being constantly under the spotlight and pitted against others, it’s awfully tough to stay as stunning without daily upkeep (how else do they keep their sanity and flawless skin?). As these top models only go for the best, we take cues from them, scrutinizing their daily beauty regime, and share 5 tips to achieve and maintain an impressive complexion like theirs.
Why limit yourself to a mask a week when using a mask daily clearly works wonders for the skin? Just take a look at superstars Lady Gaga and Bella Hadid who treated their skins to face masks before prestigious award ceremonies and flaunted their clear skin on Instagram after such skin treatments.
If you’re a true beauty junkie, you’d understand how important healthy skin is when it comes to makeup application. Starting your day with a hydrating sheet mask not only calms the skin but allows your makeup to set better. We are obsessed with Water Infusion Mask for its chock-full of essential vitamins and hyaluronic acid. This lightweight silk mesh nourishes and moisturizes skin to unveil a supple and healthy winning complexion. If you’d want to try on a Gold face mask because Bella did, go for 24K Gold Mask .
Supermodels do not leave toners behind. Many people skip this step thinking it’s redundant but a toner balances the pH of your skin to keep bacteria at bay. Moreover, moisturising on toned, slightly damp skin retains moisture better, otherwise you’d really be “wasting” your product.
Victoria Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio relies on Clarins Toning Lotion With Camomille ($23) to refresh skin. “It’s my pre-show beauty secret,” she says. Make it yours too.
3. Undereye Cream or Oil
The eyes are windows to souls. An attractive pair of peepers certainly adds oomph to a youthful and radiant appearance. Say no to fine lines and dark eye circles with regular hydration and replenishment of vital essences to the thin skin under the eyes. Quality eye-care products also help makeup set better and avoid fine lines from showing up under your powder. No wonder Kendall and Kylie Jenner are both adamant about using eye creams daily.
Adopt Emerald oil , a 100% organic grapeseed oil with Lavender that’s designed to stimulate cellular renewal, hydrate and brighten skin. To give your undereye areas a boost, consider Revitalift Eyes to quickly rejuvenate eyes by delivering tiny doses of Hyaluronic Acid to stimulate natural collagen production and moisture for luminous and attention grabbing eyes.
4. Neck Cream
Many people neglect their necks and walk out of the house with a fair flawless face paired with a dull neck one shade darker. Don’t be like them. Hot model Kate Moss moisturizes skin daily and swears by Crème de la Mer. We’re sure she takes equally good care of her neck. Our necks are not averse to aging and can become an exhibition of rough, dull and saggy skin. Thus it’s important to prime and prep our necks with replenishing serums – try Skin Drink . Made using pure naturally sourced olives, this liquid returns dewy and supple skin with its rich natural antioxidants that promise to deeply hydrate, protect and repair skin.
Read More: 4 Anti-Aging Treatments for the Neck 5. Facials
With a busy schedule of modeling and partying we can expect supermodels like Cara Delevingne, Georgia May Jagger and Stephanie Seymour to bank on facials to create magic for their skin. By scheduling their favourite red carpet facials first thing in
the day, their skin continues to glow throughout the day.
Popular celebs and models head to SW1 Spa for their facials and the Illumi-facial is their fave. Designed with them in mind, as the name suggests, the facial transforms lackluster skin with enzyme exfoliation and feeds it a potent mixture of antioxidants for skin glowing prowess. For skin that craves a deep cleanse, book yourself a Deep Red facial that removes skin junk and promotes rejuvenation benefits.

The best beauty gifts of 2018
— Our editors review and recommend products to help you buy the stuff you need. If you make a purchase by clicking one of our links, we may earn a small share of the revenue. However, our picks and opinions are independent from USA TODAY’s newsroom and any business incentives. Finding the right skincare, beauty, and haircare can be difficult—but choosing and buying these things for someone else is downright daunting (just ask anyone who’s stopped into Sephora on behalf of a S.O.) But the holiday season is actually the best time to snag makeup and beauty products, thanks to stacked gift sets loaded with products at a fraction of their normal selling price: and they make fantastic gifts. To help demystify things, we’ve sifted through the seasonal offerings to find the best beauty, skincare, and hair care gifts of 2018. Our comprehensive list has something for every type of person in your life, from your indecisive coworker, to your pal with envy-inducing hair, to the friend who has everything, to the one who could use some R+R. Without further delay, here are the best beauty gifts of 2018, according to Reviewed : We haven’t seen a gift set this stacked in years. It’s packed with 11 of Sephora’s best-sellers, including a full-sized Anastasia brow pencil, Becca highlighter, Urban Decay eyeliner, and two makeup primers . Unlike a lot of gift sets with filler items, there’s really no weak link in this one: they’re all great products. Look for brands like Kat Von D, Smashbox, Too Faced, Stila, Dior—at a great value. It’s perfect for the person who has it all, or the one for whom you don’t know what to buy. Get The Sephora Superstars Kit at Sephora for $75 Sunday Riley is a favorite among fresh-faced beauty bloggers and beauty veterans ( even Oprah loves the stuff , calling it her “go-to beauty regimen”). The Holiday Trio ($142) set comes with full sizes of Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment, U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Acne Treatment Face Oil, and Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser for truly smoother, brighter skin. Not ready to commit (or fully splurge) on the brand? In that case, we recommend the Face to Face Kit ($49), a great value with four trial-sized bottles of their must-have cleanser and Good Genes treatment, as well as C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum and Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream. If she’s a regular at the salon, it’s probably time to gift her a quality hair dryer. Harry Josh makes the best hair dryer you can buy—but this might be the most amazing deal we’ve ever seen on the mint green powerhouse. The Harry Josh Pro Tools hair dryer typically retails for $250 by itself, but in this kit, you get the dryer and its attachments as well as Serge Normant Dream Big Instant Volumizing shampoo, conditioner, and spray—all for $189. You’d be hair-brained to pass this up. Get Harry Josh Pro Tools x Serge Normant Kit at Dermstore for $189 It’s 2018, and we should know (or at least have a hunch) that skincare and self care are not just for women . Gently let your dude friends know that it’s time to start (or continue!) moisturizing and grooming. Ulta’s Grooming Essentials For Him ($30) is a great pick to cover all the bases. It features a variety of cleansers, shaving creams, and moisturizers by favorite brands including Jack Black, Clinique, Mario Badescu, and David Beckham. For the sensitive-skinned man on your list, a set of gentle skincare by Kiehl’s ($49) is also great. Peter Thomas Roth is an industry favorite for skincare, thanks to clinical strength products that prevent and correct skin issues. The products are sure to please even your pickiest pal. The Power Players 5-piece kit ($38) covers every step of a good skincare regimen: an anti-aging cleanser, a purifying mud mask, peel pads to smooth fine lines, a night serum loaded with retinol, and a moisturizer packed with hyaluronic acid. The combination purges pores of toxins and grime, and gives a burst of intense hydration. Speaking of hyaluronic acid: PTR’s Water Drench line is perfect for anyone with dry, sensitive skin. Get Drenched ($52), includes a moisturizing cleanser, serum, and moisturizer that attracts and retains up to 1,000 times its weight in water, banishing dryness. I swear by it. A good highlighter is worth its weight in gold. Gift your glows-from-within pal a highlighter sampler set from Sephora that’s great for experimenting with the best highlighters on the market right now. It comes with five liquid, powder, and stick formulas from favorite brands like Fenty, Benefit, and Milk. The array of finishes and tones ensures subtle radiance, intense glow, or anything in between, so she can pick her favorite before committing to the full size. Get Glow For It at Sephora for $28 Q: Will we ever really outgrow our childlike wonder for the holidays? A: Thanks to grownup advent calendars , we really don’t have to. Philosophy’s Guide to Warm and Cozy has all the surprise and excitement of a traditional advent calendar, packed with the brand’s most-loved items for a complete, holiday-themed regimen. Spoiler alert: Philosophy’s iconic Amazing Grace lotion and Purity face cleanser are behind a couple of the windows, as well as festive apple cider and peppermint scents. We’ll leave the rest as surprises. Get Philosophy’s Guide to Warm and Cozy at Ulta for $39 You know that friend who always shows up with a mane that would make hair models jealous? Trust me: that ‘do doesn’t come without some effort. Help her out with those beachy waves with Sephora’s Party Hair ($35), a set of six hair products that add volume and texture, from great brands like Amika, Ouai, IGK, Living Proof, Drybar, and Bumble and Bumble. If her mane is more sleek and shiny than messy and wavy, Color Wow Dream Smooth Kit ($58) is great for silky, glossy hair: The three-piece kit features shampoo, conditioner, and lightweight spray that are perfect for color-protected hair. Benefit’s cutesy branding is perfect for makeup newbies, but don’t let the punny names and packaging fool you: They make some of the best makeup on the market. Benefit has a lot of great gift sets out this year, but IMO, this is the best one, since it includes full-sized, iconic products. Roller Lash mascara curls, lengthens, and lifts lashes; the POREfessional Face Primer blurs pores and smooths complexion; cult classic Hoola Matte Bronzer is the perfect contouring powder; and High Beam Liquid Highlighter gives a subtle and satiny glow. It’s great as a starter set, but any makeup vet would be delighted by these picks, too. Get Benefit Gimme Some Sugar Limited-Edition Value Set at Ulta for $44 My skin is so laughably sensitive that I pretty much have to wear mittens like a newborn to prevent irritating it. That being said, First Aid Beauty makes products that calm my angry skin. They’re infused with nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and colloidal oatmeal. The brand has tons of gift sets out this year, but this kit is the most comprehensive—and has the best array of must-haves. A gentle face cleanser removes impurities, and Facial Radiance Pads resurface and brighten. The Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum is perfect to layer beneath the thick, hydrating Ultra Repair Cream. Finish off with Ultra Repair Intensive Lip Balm to battle aging, uneven pigmentation, eczema, dehydrated skin, and chapped lips—all winter long. Get First Aid Beauty FAB Beautique set at Dermstore for $48 You know you can’t rely on this friend to pick a restaurant or commit to a hair color—but you can bet she’ll love the plentiful options in this gift set. Lashstash ($48) has 10 mascaras with new and best-selling formulas that stretch, volumize, and curl lashes. Look for cult favorites from Benefit and Too Faced, as well as Dior, Lancôme, and more. Even though she can’t decide on many things, one thing’s for sure: she probably wants long, curled, luscious lashes. Get Lashstash for $48 from Sephora Subtly let her know you’ve received all those #SelfCareSunday selfies with a set of face masks. Beauty Unmasked ($24) features six mask formulas, from Boscia’s infamous black peel-off mask to a nourishing sheet mask by Sephora. A collection of clay, gel, and sheet formulas from Dr.Jart+, Kiehl’s, Origins, GlamGlow, and more will draw out oil, dirt, and toxins. Alternatively, Peter Thomas Roth’s the Mask Mashup ($25) has six types of face masks to address pretty much any skin concern, from fine lines to redness to dryness and environmental damage. The effective formulas cool and calm, exfoliate and moisturize, and smooth and strengthen. We all have the friend who can’t stop buying lipstick she doesn’t necessarily need (if you don’t have this friend, sorry: it’s you). For your beloved lipstick addict, Give Me More Lip is perfect. The gift set has 14 lipsticks from brands Anastasia ( our top-rated liquid lipstick! ), Huda, Kat Von D, Nars, and more—in an array of liquid, gloss, and solid formulas in deep ruby reds to barely-there nude tones. Get Give Me More Lip at Sephora for $68 This year, Oprah included a $360 makeup brush set on her Favorite Things of 2018 list. Yikes—good makeup brushes are wonderful, but can be a waste of money . Lucky for you(r wallet), Yoseng also makes a set of 10 brushes, but for a fraction of the price, and with the same large, flat surface that allows for easy makeup distribution and even coverage—and 1.5k five-star ratings on Amazon is always a good sign. Get Yoseng 10-Piece Makeup Brush Set at Amazon for $13 You’ve probably told your curly pal, “I’m so jealous of your hair!” Well, PSA from all curlies: Our hair is dry and we need products to hydrate our sad, thirsty spirals! With DevaCurl’s five-piece Curly Care Kit ($48), the gang’s all here: a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, styling cream, and moisturizing spray with nourishing oils that provide shine and target frizz. DevaCurl is the holy grail for lots of curly-haired people, but some of us plain old don’t like it. That’s where R+Co comes in. The three-piece Deep End Set ($49) packs a ton of moisture to hydrate those frizzy locks and corrects damage—it’s perfect for dry, frizzy curls. The curly-cue in your life will thank you. BareMinerals powder foundation the top-selling poweder fountation in the U.S., so there’s a pretty good chance that your naturally beautiful friend uses the stuff. The Nothing Beats the Original Complexion Kit ($34) is a four-piece collection of trial-sized bareMinerals complexion essentials: a primer, Original Foundation, Beautiful Finish brush, and Mineral Veil Finishing Powder. It gives natural-looking coverage for a “your skin but better” look. For a higher impact look with bareMinerals’ signature blend, the five-piece Meteor Shower collection ($46) comes with an all-over face foundation, as well as a six-eyeshadow palette, Lashtopia mascara, a high-shine lip lacquer, and blush. If your friend is always showing up to brunch raving about a new skincare product, sure, it might mean she has commitment issues, but that also means she’ll be thrilled by this 15-piece, multi-branded skincare set from Sephora. The sampler kit features the store’s top-selling luxuries for glowing skin, at a super-reasonable price point for what it offers. Expect an influx of serums, lotions, sunscreen, and moisturizers from cult favorite brands like Clinque, Sunday Riley, Boscia, Caudalie, Korres, and Tarte. Get Skin Wonderland at Sephora for $64 Let’s be honest: Baths are great any time, but around the holidays when stress is high and temperatures are low, they probably should be mandatory. This gift set is ideal with nine bath “truffles,” each infused with an eight-oil blend for a moisturizing bath in indulgent and calming scents like lavender, coconut cream, and buttercream. Get Holiday Assorted Bath Truffles at Ulta for $20 Every holiday season of my adolescence, you could, without fail, find a huge makeup kit on my wishlist. If your giftee was the Caboodles type as a kid, give her the grownup version of the decked-out makeup kit: A giant, all-in-one palette with 76(!!!) intense eyeshadows, two face powders, and a dual-ended lip liner, eyeliner, and eyeshadow brushes for precise application. My inner teenager is jumping for joy. Get The Beauty Book Makeup Set at Neiman Marcus for $59 This is the gift for anyone who’s hard to shop for—here’s why: The cologne sampler ($65) and perfume sampler ($65) each come with 15 samples of Sephora’s most sought-after fragrances.
